Description
AI-Driven Parametric Design: From Code to Architecture
The 31 of May 2025
Duration: 3 hours
Objective: Equip participants with the skills to generate innovative architectural forms using Grasshopper with GhPython, while leveraging AI tools like MidJourney, Luma AI, and ChatGPT for concept development and live code generation.
Overview:
This immersive workshop explores how coding, AI, and parametric design intersect to transform architectural workflows. Participants will:
-
Use ChatGPT to generate Python scripts for Grasshopper components in real time.
-
Code a wavy surface using sinusoidal functions and GhPython.
-
Generate 3D Voronoi structures with script-based control of density and scale.
-
Design a parametric rotating tower, adjusting geometric parameters through code.
-
Integrate MidJourney for visual inspiration and Luma AI for converting AI imagery into 3D models.
-
Learn how to export, optimize, and visualize models using Lumion, V-Ray, or Blender.
Outcomes: By the end, each participant will complete:
-
Three coded parametric geometries (wavy surface, Voronoi structure, rotating tower).
-
AI-enhanced architectural visuals and 3D conversions.
-
A complete workflow connecting Grasshopper, ChatGPT-generated scripts, and AI tools.
Requirements: Rhino 7+ with Grasshopper, ChatGPT access (Plus plan recommended), MidJourney, Luma AI. Some familiarity with Grasshopper or basic coding is a plus.
